Information Server Platforms

The Information Server 1200 family provides solutions to key business and IT problems around data and information management. The IS1200 family consists of three platforms:

• IS1200-FRM–Optimized for high-performance file reporting and data migration
• IS1200-SA–Enables file search and restore across the enterprise network
• IS1200-ECS–Combines the functionality of the FRM and SA and incorporates control for data privacy and data compliance

Software Options for the IS1200 Family

Options that enhance the functionality of the IS1200 family of appliances can be added to the platform.

SnapSearch
SnapSearch extends the classification and search capabilities of the IS1200 to include backups stored using Snapshot™ and SnapVault®. This valuable tool provides visibility into these multiple point–in–time backups and allows administrators to perform instant restores of individual files quickly and easily, drastically shortening the restore time and therefore increasing productivity. SnapSearch is compatible with the IS1200–SA and IS1200–ECS.

Retention Manager
Retention Manager can help identify files and content that have compliance and/or privacy exposures to prevent potential data loss. Once identified, this data can be copied, moved to a suitable storage system, or deleted, as defined by corporate policy.

This automation eliminates any potential human error in identifying and dealing with compliance–related content as well as drastically reducing the time required for this task. Retention Manager integrates with SnapLock and Decru® to ensure the correct level of security for that data. Retention Manager is compatible with the IS1200–ECS platform.
